Merry Christmas to All!!!

Christmas is by far the best time of year. I love to sit and visit with Richard and my siblings and remember the past Christmas' that I have enjoyed. I have so many great memories! Unfortunately I didn't get a picture today(i will tomorrow), but it felt like a magical day. I have a hard time feeling the "feeling of Christmas" if there is no snow and today we were more than blessed with a beautiful blanket across town of that magical snow.

This year has been a busy year, especially this past month. I wanted to be able to send out Christmas cards or at least post a little more about Christmas, but this will have to do.

So to all of the important people in my life I want to say "thank you" for your love and friendship and "Merry Christmas!"

its a boy!

i had my first ultrasound yesterday and it turns out
that i'm going to have a family of boys! everything was
perfect with the baby and my due date will probably stay
the same. with any luck i'll have him early like i did
with ammon. i'm crossing my fingers so i don't miss out
on the st. george trip over spring break.

for those of you who don't understand ultrasounds, this isn't his thumb.

i'm sure most babies sit the same way but i thought this was interesting. the one on the left is my baby and the one on the right is ammon. they are sitting the same way with their arm over their face.

halloween!

last weekend we met up with aaron, charmay, and andrew and went up to the southtown expo center to the "trick or treat street." they had a big neighborhood of houses set up so you could go trick or treating to each one. ammon wasn't feeling to well so we just walked around holding him and our treat bags. we ended up with too much candy(a bag full for each one of us). needless to say we didn't need to buy halloween candy!

this is ammon and his cousins on halloween.

special moments

richard and ammon have been spending a lot quality father-son time together lately. since the dance season started in september and i've been busy teaching, that has left richard home to be the babysitter. at first i was a little jealous because he was getting all the hugs and kisses instead of me. thankfully, ammon still loves me enough to give me a kiss every once in a while.

when i come home from the studio i usually find them playing together. sometimes they're out in the yard working(mostly richard, with a little help from ammon), or in the living room wrestling on the floor, or latley they've been working on their musical talents in the basement. whatever it is they are always having fun and i always come home to two smiling happy boys.

i am so grateful that richard has spent this time with ammon. it has always been important for me that my children will have a strong relationship with me and richard and always know that they are loved. i love to see the way ammon reacts to richard walking in the room. he's always so excited to see him. i am blessed to have such a wonderful loving husband and seriously the cutest little boy ever.

horny toads

so i was just looking at liz's blog and laughing at how funny ella is. when i was younger my dad use to catch little pets for me(mostly lizards, but some horny toads). i never did any silly things with them like ella and nic but i loved to have them for pets. now that i'm older i still get a little brave and catch horny toads when i camping. i've always caught them thinking of nic and his love for little creatures, but now i can share that with ammon.

so over our labor day camping trip my mom spotted this horny toad and of course she wasn't going to catch it so i willing did. it was just a little one otherwise i probably would have been too scared.:) anyway, ammon was so excited that he wanted to carry the bucket around all day. of course if he did that we wouldn't have had a pet for very long. so every once in a while i'd get it out to play with. ammon would start to get mad cause he wanted to hold it so i would get it out and he would just pull his hand back and say "ouch". with grandpa dee's help we got him to hold it. it was so funny to watch his reaction everytime we would play with it.
eventually i let the cute little pet go. i figured he would be happier free!

arizona!

well first of all, yes it was so dang hot! i could feel my legs burning 2 min. after getting off the plane. it was 114 when we got there, and cooled off to 104(thank goodness. that was bearable).
so me, my mom, and katie went to scottsdale for a dance teacher/owner convention. we had such a great time. unfortunately i don't have all the pics i took while i was there(check katie's blog to see if she has them). we used two cameras. but i do have good ones.
the trip consisted of shopping, reading(Twilight Series), classes, reading, shopping, more classes, Breaking Dawn Midnight Party(yeah!!!), more reading, reading, and classes. pretty sure mom wanted to kill us after the first day cause me and katie could not put our books down.
beside all the wonderfull informational classes, we were able to take classes from some big wigs such as Joe Tremaine, Desiree Robins, Joe Lanteri, Greg Russell, Ray Leaper, and so on. we were also lucky enough to get to see famous dancers such as Travis Wall, Ivan and Jamie (sorry dont remember last names, So You Think You Can Dance). they were amazing!

summer olympics

i usually dont watch the olympics so intensely, but if any of you have watched these events you would understand how amazing these guys have done. michael phelps is incredible. he has won the gold in each event he has been in so far, and i hope he wins the rest. and the mens gymnastics was awesome. i didnt get to finish watching the last part of the finals(thanks to ammon) but they were doing so well. i must say im a little bummed they didnt get the silver, but what an accomplishment for a new team into the olympics. pretty sure swimming and gymnastics are two of my favorite events of the summer olympics. i just hope to see the womens gymnastics pick it up and do a little better in the finals.

blankets!

ok, so my reading has slowed down a little. so i guess i have no excuse for laziness in posts. anyway, for those of you who know me well enough you know that i obsess about blankets. well of course i have to pass that obsession down. so lately when ammon wakes up he likes to throw all of his blankets(he almost always has 3) out of his crib and then when i pick him up he points to each one of them as i pick them up. also, when i get him out the tub i wrap him up in a towel and then he wants his blankets too. so this morning, i went in to get him, same routine, this time he wouldn't just let me take one of his blankets with us he needed all of them.:) i love it. blankets to me are such a comfort. even when im sweating at night i still need my blanket by me. my family will always have blankets around the house. i guess the fight will be which one belongs to who.

A quick break!

Sorry for my lack of posting. I'm taking a break because thanks to Jaimi I cant stop reading. After she got home from her trip she brought me the first two books of the Twilight series and said I needed to read them. Now that I've read those I had to get the 3rd. Luckily Richards mom came to my rescue. Her house is practically a library. Anyway, So now I can't stop! :) So anyone who hasn't read them, you need to. I can't believe how into them I am. Now I just have to wait till Aug. 2 from book #4 to come out! So for the heads up you may not see a post for a few more weeks.

Our Camping Trip

We planned a trip down to Bryce Canyon this year with some of my family. And like any trip it can't be perfect. Something has to go wrong, right? Well off we went on our 3-3.5 hour drive to the canyon. Only really it took us at least 5 hrs. This is why. We were more than half way there and Matt noticed something fly out of Mike's truck. So we pull over and this is what we found!

Good thing we had the guys with us. I have never changed a flat tire in my life. Maybe I should once so I at least know what to do.
So we finally made it to camp. It was such a pretty place. I have lots of pictures so I will show only a few.

We went on some long(really long) 4-wheeler rides. I love to just sit back and enjoy nature. Of course it was a little hot, so I did get a little sunburned. But who couldn't use a little more sun? And, we seemed to always end up being the last ones in line. So as you could imagine we were covered in dirt from the 5 4-wheelers in front of us. You'll see a picture of my feet. That's not just a tan line it's a dirt line.

While we were on one of our really long rides to our surprise Mike had led us to a lake. Let me just say, it was so refreshing. Mike actually got all the way in, fully clothed. After seeing him do that, I was really tempted. The water was so clear you could see little baby fishes swimming all around your feet.

Ok, one more thing. Since we were in Bryce Canyon we had to go to the park. Let me just say, WOW! It was amazing! Here are some more pictures.

Happy Anniversary!

Richard and I had our anniversary June 17th. We now have been married for an eventful 4 yrs. Wow, time goes by really fast. We've bought two new homes(a townhouse and our new house), had 6 vehicles(4 trucks that we still have, one day I might drive a car:)), expanded our business twice, and turned our family into 3. I have been so blessed to have Richard in my life. He does so much for me and works so hard everyday to make our lives better and better. I'm so grateful that I have the gospel in my life to know that I can be forever with my family. And that Richard was worthy to take me to be sealed to him in the temple. That is the best gift I could ask for and to be able to have Ammon in our lives forever as well. I am grateful for this day to celebrate and be reminded of the eternal plan that has been made for me.

our 1st fire!

on friday night we started our first fire in our fire pit. i wanted to make smores but all i had was little marshmallows. i thought i'd give it try, and it actually worked. anyway, it was fun to finally use our fire pit. it looks awesome. richard and jeremy did a great job building it. i am so grateful for all the hard work they are putting into our backyard.

i had to make ammon his own little seat. the benches are a little too big for him.

my backyard

richard has been working very hard to get our backyard fixed. of course, money is an issue. if it wasn't all so exspensive it would all be done. but so far it's looking great! it might be a while before we have grass, a trampoline, and a playground but some day it will all come. it will be nice to sit out and let ammon and his little friends play. but for now we'll just have to enjoy bbqs and the nice firepit. my dad and jeremy have been so much help. thanks so much to my backyard crew!!!(richard, dad, and jeremy)
